Hello All;

I was wondering if anyone that has had some rough times with their investments in the past would be able to share their experience with me. I am in deep trouble now financially and looking at bankruptcy but not sure how to proceed with it or figure out the real info from the crap online. Any advice and suggestions would be great to hear.

Thanks for your time;
Alan

You need a local professional for your BK issues. Maybe someone that also has a clue about investments like an RIA, maybe those are two different people, maybe it's all in one FP office. You want to know how to protect what assets you can and how to preserve the opportunity to invest in the future, depending on your state there may be an insurance (annuity) or "asset location" strategy involved.

"Real info" for this kind of thing comes from someone professional on the ground, that you know and trust and/or comes recommended from friends/references.

Re: rough times with investments, that's what it's about, taking good with bad. Gotta personally determine what you can take on the downside and structure your strategy accordingly, noting that your upside expectations have to be managed based on your downside avoidance. Let's face it: speculating with stocks/ETFs/futures/Forex/etc. is NOT for everyone.
