Right up there along with Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kenya, and Nigeria. Also, note that Bangladesh - with a population of 150 million people, has roughly twice the population of Vietnam (85 million). Total market cap at this point is only US$8 billion but the market already trades at 20x forward earnings:

Last month, New York-based Citigroup, the largest U.S. bank, became the first foreign lender to get a license to offer merchant- banking and investment-banking services. |

WSJ on the recent performance of the "frontier markets."

| Quote: | You might not be able to place Bangladesh, Ivory Coast and Ukraine on a map, but their stock markets sure stand out this year.
They are all up nearly 100% or more in dollar terms, according to a Standard & Poor's index that tracks "frontier markets" -- places so far off the investment radar screen, and often so far down the development ladder, that they don't officially count as emerging markets.
Another frontier market, Nigeria, has even outpaced China during the past 12 months, S&P says, with returns of 111% for dollar-based investors. In Kenya, some investors say the coming listing of a chunk of Safaricom Ltd., a telecom operator, might give the company a market value of as much as $4 billion, a large amount for that type of market. |
