The Bank Credit Analyst contends that there is near-term resistance but they are longer-term bullish:

I see the volatility indexes (VIX and VXN) have fallen below their lower Bollinger bands.

It will be interesting to see how the market opens on Monday, after the talk shows get everyone excited about buying.
