The China story burns brightly going into the Olympics but how much of this will go the way of the "Guangdong" story?

Berlin hosted 1936 Summer Games, and Nazi Germany fell apart nine years later.

Moscow hosted 1980 Summer Games, and the USSR went into history in ten years.

Beijing hosts 2008 Summer Games, and it will also fall apart in a few years?

If China's the factory of the world, then Dongguan can be called the factory of China. Since last September, 20% of factories have been relocated, and about 40% closed shops, and the rest are only operating a few days a month in their constant struggle to cope with ever raising input prices of energy, raw materials, and labor costs. I don't have links for this but a friend of mine operates there just told me a week ago.
