Fidelity rumored to be announcing 4,000 in layoffs:

The problem is more qualitative than quantitative.

Newbies, questions, simple one-sentence takes on the action - all very OK in my book.

People having links to their website in the "WWW" box on their profile, very nice.

Links in sigs ... hmm ... something funny and humorous? Or promoting your site? Different things, those.

Newbie posting 5+ one-sentence takes in 24 hours with a sig link to a spammy newsletter site below each one. Deleted.

FWIW, just my opinion, if he had been adding something substantive to the conversations (and still had the spammy link) I might (MIGHT) have been tempted to leave him alone.

Bill, thanks for keeping us vigilant! I second that - I've been deleting posts and banning posters as well. I encourage other mods to do the same. We're all busy folks but this will keep non-substantive posts to a minimum going forward. Please msg or email me if you have questions.

Have a great weekend,

Henry

I'm deleting steve80 and all of his posts.

Reason: every one has been a sentence - no real added value and no substantive questions asked, and his sig line is a link to a fairly spammy newsletter subscription splash page.

I would ask all the mods to be on the lookout for similar style spam comments. They are getting less and less obvious about it ...
