I am just getting into this trading thing... I have my online account all set up and a cool stockgopher tool bar in my browser window with my google finance account all hooked up.
I have been watching a few stocks to see how they move and making fake buys with limited success. Doing a ton of research online too. Today was an alright day for me with GOLD
I need some help setting up the google finance Screener. I get the theory behind the screener, but what I want it to do is find good strong solid stocks with a good history, but ones that have recently fallen.
There is no decent info on the net about this topic... just scams and schemes and people describing things in a way that only a seasoned Day trader would understand.
I would just like to hook the screener up to find these stocks then play with it to see if it can be part of my future strategy.
I could hook it all up my self, but I know that without having many years watching the markets the dialing in of the screener to find these stocks would be futile. |

I don't know what the capabilities of the GF screener are, or what you're trying to do exactly, but there are ideas of what to look for in the research papers here:

It seems most of the long-timers here are position players (weeks to months) to "investors" (traders with time horizons in years). You may not find too many short-term (intraday to days) ideas here, but WELCOME! _________________ I haven’t seen a beatin’ like that since somebody stuck a banana in my pants and turned a monkey loose. |

Kirk's screens seem to be telling a story. I'll repeat: It'd be good for somebody to sign up over there. _________________ Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday! |

Try dividend increases over 5 years previous to this mess--morningstar, or, better, a subscription to the Kirkreport will generate some lists for you--then you could share what's interesting with us. _________________ Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday! |
