Consolidation finds a whole new "market mechanism" as China pulls plug on Johnson Controls battery plant. They really had to reach on this...over the heads of lab reports clearly showing the lead came from elsewhere.

Watch for a reopening "under new management" in the not too distant future.

Disney sipping from the poisoned chalice:

"They want their own branded family entertainment product and why shouldn't they?"

This should be quite entertaining.

We scream when govt. takes a stake in General Motors, and then crawl over each other to climb aboard a stolen train with more govt employees than the sum total in the US. Industrial Planning meets the national champion.

The chi chi train has crashed into the caboose in a zen-like balancing of the scales after china pretty much lifted japan's high-speed rail and has now "rebranded" it:

Funny story you've no doubt seen....but note the last line:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/21/us-china-apple-fake-idUSTRE76K1SU20110721

"I prefer to get my Apple products fixed here. It's very troublesome going to the real Apple store in Lujiazui because not only do you have to pay to get repairs, but you have to make an appointment to see the sales specialist," said Xavier, a 30-something expatriate who declined to give his last name.

"The prices are the same as the real store but the service is better here," he added, before whipping out his two iPads to tinker with.
