Pretty good forecasts but the stock is down 30 cents in AH trading as I am typing this. There is a quote there giving the impression that emerging market sales will help going forward as well but I just don't buy that - given the global slowdown scenario we are currently seeing.

World's largest chipmaker says sales will be higher than expected due to strong laptop demand.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Intel, the world's largest maker of semiconductors, raised its sales forecast for the second quarter Thursday, citing strong demand for chips used in laptop computers.
The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said it now expects sales of $9.1 billion to $9.3 billion for the quarter. The $9.2 billion midpoint is higher than the $8.97 billion consensus sales estimate of Wall Street analysts, according to Thomson/First Call. Intel reported revenue of $8.05 billion in the second quarter of 2004.
