I'm doing a data collection sheet for my stats. and prob. class and I need to know the following:
What is the largest $ you have lost in a single day of trading either real trading or paper money, doesnt' matter. |

I had a large french/german bond spread on once with about .05% margin which comes naturally leveraged. This was during the Soros ERM run and...wouldn't you know it, the French take more catholic holdiays. Had a huge move when france was closed.....that was a long....long weekend!
P.S. never bet on the french over the germans on anything to do with money  _________________ Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday! |

I think a better statistic to collect would be the the largest percentage drop of your portfolio on a given day.
If I lose $500 out of a $1000 portfolio it's a huge loss for me, but to somebody else $500 might be how much they lose each time they're stopped out. |
