| In a recent marketwatch article, Richard Russell has conceeded and joined the bull camp. It appears that the oldest dow theory newsletter writer has seen a very bullish dow theory signal. The dow industrials, dow transports, and dow utilities all hit historic highs together on two seperate occasions. The dates were April 20th and April 25. The article was written by Mark Hulbert. |

I take it these are the Dow theory-derived indicators he's using, the same ones that made Russell a perma-bear all those great investment years
just a thought |

Generally, I would be very concerned when a perma-bear converts to a bull, as this may signal a market top.
But as I read the details of this article, it seems Richard Russell's conversion was based solely on technical considerations, namely his Dow Theory signals. So I think this is more of intellectual honesty than emotional capitulation.
So my respect for Richard Russell has returned.
