We'll use one title here as IMHO most pessimism is a harder form of the later. All extremes must go of course.

Second half (after "Less Than Zero" re-visitation that is timely on a demographics level) offers an interesting, concise discussion of the topic current 'cept for the obvious omission of technology's role as present day prophet--which, biblically, was never the role of oracle. Idea

Quote:
Earlier this month, Mr. Geithner had breakfast in Manhattan with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Robert Steel, a deputy mayor and former Treasury official in the Bush administration who had previously worked at Goldman [GS 148.08 1.03 (+0.7%) ]. Facetiously, a Geithner aide said Mr. Steel and Mr. Geithner knew each other from the investment bank.

Later that day at a public event, the mayor in all seriousness referred to Mr. Steel and Mr. Geithner, and added, “They both worked at Goldman.”
