Bill is approved:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl//5280242.html
| Quote: | Texas voters on Tuesday approved $3 billion in state debt to boost funding for cancer research, a priority of Gov. Rick Perry, who campaigned for the tax-backed bonds over the opposition of many of his own conservative supporters.
Proposition 15 also had the strong backing of cycling champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong, former state Comptroller John Sharp, Republican and Democratic legislators and numerous health care professionals and anti-cancer organizations. |
