Why did you make your model, i.e., what inspired you?

How do (will) you use your model? Will you use leverage? Funds? ETFs?

Did you have experience modeling before attempting it?

Answers for me:
I wanted a boom/bust model to tell me when to pull out of my individual stocks, to avoid a market crash. Since I work with data (a lot) in my real job, I enjoyed it so much that I am planning to use some mad money in ETF or Rydex funds for some short term trading, but only when percentages are very high. I don't like making hard buy or sell signals, I do it for testing purposes, but day-to-day I like to measure odds and make judgement calls, and vary the size of the bet based on the odds.
