Regional Banks

Until last week's WAMU housing "surprise" earnings these things were at 52 week highs. This despite their direct exposure to housing and an inverted yield-curve, in normal conditions their bread and butter.

Already some giving up on the consumer:

Banks and Utes should have been strong today. Anything different?

Despite a strong seasonal to end of Oct in bonds, spread between Funds and Commericals on the CBOT has gotton extremely lopsided at minus 120000 contracts--implying higher yields ahead.
