With a half-billion in govt. funding and a slam-dunk Obama victory Tesla is "too big to fail"
California is doing its part with more destined to fail mandates. And Iran/refinery $4 gas this summer will probably keep the industry going--but the takeup is exceeding my depressed visions. This is especially true in europe where, even with $7 gas, there's no infrastructure in apt. living to charge! Less than 2% and that's probably where they're gonna stay.
Meanwhile, here comes the diesel! _________________ Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday! |

Sedan model on track for a 2012 production release:
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=20694
| Quote: | "The first Alpha is amazingly agile for a car of its size. It has great handling balance and poised ride with communicative steering," noted Tesla Motors in a blog post. "Just goes to show what combining a low center of gravity with a very stiff body structure can achieve."
Tesla Motors will continue with Alpha testing throughout 2011 in various climate conditions and will likely move on to the Beta phase either later this year or early next year. The production Model S is due out in 2012.
The 4,000-pound Model S will have a driving range of up to 300 miles and can move from a standstill to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds. Preliminary pricing for the Model S puts the base model (160-mile range) at $57,400 before a $7,500 federal tax credit. |

$100000 car that looks like a $20,000 lotus. At least they took some of the baffles out. The sedan is pretty sweet. I think they could make all they'll ever need the administration room of NUMMI. Kind of riding the tails of Toyota's public relations.
Won't put any money them (60000 individual batt. connections is not the way to go) but hope they pull it off. Gulf oil works bigtime for electrics. _________________ Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday! |
