Not sure if any of you is a fan or has read Andy Kessler's books. I've read his previous ones (including a chapter in John Mauldin's "Just One Thing") but I haven't read this one and I am not sure what to make of it:

Anyone who has read it please let me know what you think and your reactions.

Thanks,

Henry

For those folk interested in natural dietary supplements which may have anti-cancer and life prolongation properties:

Ellagic Acid:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellagic_acid

Study
The Hollings Cancer Institute at the University of South Carolina has conducted a double blind study on a group of 500 cervical cancer patients that gained a lot of attention. Nine years of study have shown that a natural product called ellagic acid is causing G-arrest within 48 hours (inhibiting and stopping mitosis - cancer cell division), and apoptosis (normal cell death) within 72 hours, for breast, pancreas, esophageal, skin, colon and prostate cancer cells.[5]

Clinical tests on cultured human cells also show that ellagic acid prevents the destruction of the p53 gene by cancer cells. Additional studies suggest that one of the mechanisms by which ellagic acid inhibits mutagenesis and carcinogenesis is by forming adducts with DNA, thus masking binding sites to be occupied by the mutagen or carcinogen. Ellagic acid can be found in different foods.

Resveratrol:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resveratrol

BOSTON-November 1, 2006-Researchers have used a single compound to increase the lifespan of obese mice, and found that the drug reversed nearly all of the changes in gene expression patterns found in mice on high calorie diets--some of which are associated with diabetes, heart disease, and other significant diseases related to obesity. The research, led by investigators at Harvard Medical School and the National Institute on Aging, is the first time that the small molecule resveratrol has been shown to offer survival benefits in a mammal. The study is reported in the November 1 advanced online edition of Nature.

henry...you know i do not enjoy typing and computers...but,i can fathom some response to the confusing misinformation of this investor....please simply look at what is.the premise of the current model of medical care is in the usa is fatally flawed...why,again i re-iterate ...the premise is flawed...hu?medical care which is what is sold by the m.d. (allopath)is simply not synonymous with health care.period.the doctor under the laws and provisions enacted into care standards over many decades of lobbying has effectively disconected going to a doctor and being healthy.the doctor by law is to remedy your complaint or symptom with a synthetic remedy(drug companies provide these)doctors sell them...doctors make severeal millons over decades and corporations make millions...the corporations design the medical curriculums..and what they teach is a cherry picking of information that results in the student being trained in the dubious alchemy of selling pills to manage the patients pre-mature degeneration and not return to health...there is no money for pill sellers in health...by not being obligated to guide a return to health..well by no coincidence every preventable degenerative illness is managed as the patient gradually declines...sort of an annuity plan...why,,then after years of toxic poor health, surgery and more costly solutions are the obvious next step and solution for the hapless soul...and insurance covers all this stuff that the pill sellers provide...humans are inherently robust,,,the doctors would have you believe we are genentically flawed and ticking time bombs that will desperately need them in the not to distant future...however...do objective stats back up this view?since the allopathic, non-health model has become the monopolistic hegemony of choice, well, by EVERY public health measure america has never been sicker and the "industry " has never grossed more cash....is that a correlation or a relation...you decide,i already get it...we are greased cattle for the man's machine..very tragic how the elite will figure a way to convert a rather alturistic endeavor into a profitable slow grinding killing machine..eh boys' ,who loves ya
