Kan Trakulhoon, president and chief executive officer of Thailand's SCG, attended the Business Roundtable with the Government that wrapped up on Wednesday in Hanoi as a panelist in the discussion about "The CEO Experience."
An investment practitioner in the country, he talked to The SGT over the prospects for an economy referred to at the forum as Asia's rising star, as well as the success story of his group here...

Note that this EM debt fund is riskier than most. I believe this is the only ETF which has allowed US investors to invest in any Vietnamese financial asset class.

The Economist's comprehensive look at 2008 lists Vietnam's projected GDP as 8.1%. I know that in aerospace, they are buying 787's to build a world class airline. I concur that they are a country to follow and that they offer a potential for profitable business and trading.
Seeking Alpha article on PowerShares Emerging Markets Sovereign Debt ETF (PCY) that includes Viet Nam. I'm sure that there will be some opinion on the validity of this ETF.
